What types of grinding wheels are used in Yokota grinders?
A grinder is
a small, handheld power tool that has a rotating spindle where a collet holds
the cutting bit. The grinding bit that rotates at very high speed is used for
removing material from the work-piece. They look similar to rotary tools and
are usually powered by compressed air. These are various types of grinder i.e.
Vertical Grinder, Straight Grinder, Die grinder, Angle grinder.
The term
grind can be applied to any tedious yet lengthy endeavor regardless of the
industry or circumstances in which it occurs. A college student’s activity of
studying at length for an exam can be considered a grind. The term also applies
to anyone whose job may be monotonous or simple in nature, yet requires a large
amount of effort to complete
The various types
of grinding, wheels are Straight Grinding Wheels, Cylinder, Tapered Grinding
Wheels, Straight Cup, Dish cup, and Saucer Grinding Wheels.
Straight grinding Wheels: - This type of wheel is flat in type and generally used for
cylindrical and surface grinding operations.
Cylinder grinding wheels: - This type
of grinding wheel is cylindrical like structure and having hollow on the
center. They are generally used in vertical or horizontal spindle grinders.
Grinding is done by using the upper end of the face of the wheel.
Tapered wheel: -It is a type of wheel that tapered from outward
towards the center of the grinding wheel. This type of wheel is stronger than a straight type of the grinding wheel. It accepts higher lateral loads. It is
generally used for a thread of gear teeth grinding purposes.
Straight Cup wheel: - This type of a grinding wheel is having cup-like structure, where having an additional radial
grinding surface is beneficial.
Dish cup wheel: - This
grinding wheel is like a shallow cup-style grinding wheel. The thinness allows
grinding in slots and crevices. It is basically used in cutter grinding and jig
grinding.
Saucer wheel: - This type
of grinding wheel is used to grind milling cutters and twist drills. It is most
common in non-machining areas, as saw filers use saucer wheels in the
maintenance of saw blades.
